I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota and spent many summer days paddling and portaging canoes in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Minnesota. I graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and worked at Camp Christikon in Montana during the summers. I spent a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Syracuse, NY working at a Catholic Charities neighborhood center. I graduated from the University of Chicago Divinity School and was ordained in 2004. I served a congregation in rural Iowa for six years and moved to Nampa, ID in 2010 to serve as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church.
